Alexandria, Va. – Democratic nominee Canek Aguirre today announced the endorsement of the Northern Virginia Labor Federation (NoVA Labor). NoVA Labor is the Northern Virginia AFL-CIO, comprised of 54 local unions and 75,000 workers.
“I am honored to have earned NoVA Labor’s endorsement in this race,” said Canek Aguirre. “My mother was a union member. I know the many opportunities afforded to my family were due to the hardworking women and men in the Labor movement fighting for workers' rights. If elected, I will continue to stand with workers and support their right to have a voice in the workplace, earn a living wage, and retire with dignity.”
This is the latest major endorsement for Aguirre’s campaign. His previous endorsements include: the Alexandria Firefighters, Inc. Local 2141; the Alexandria Political Action Committee for Education (APACE); the Democratic Latino Organization of Virginia (DLOV); Democrats for a Better Alexandria (DBA); New Virginia Majority; People For The American Way’s Next Up Victory Fund; Run For Something; and the Sierra Club Virginia.
