Latino Victory Fund Endorses Canek for Re-Election

Alexandria, Va. - Democrat Canek Aguirre is proud to receive the endorsement of Latino Victory Fund in his campaign for re-election to the Alexandria City Council. Currently in his second term, Aguirre is the first Latino to serve on the Alexandria City Council in the City’s history.

In 2022, Councilman Aguirre once again made history as the first Latino to serve as Chair of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission which provides oversight of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Aguirre is in his second year as Chair of the Virginia Board of Social Work. He has been recognized by El Tiempo Latino as one of the 100 most influential people for the Hispanic community in the Washington, D.C., metro area and as an Alexandria 40 under 40 honoree.
